Friday, March 19th through Sunday, March 21st, this weekend retreat combines workshops for hammered dulcimer, fiddle and mixed instruments and features a special Acadian flavor reflecting special guests, Gadelle from Prince Edward Island. Weekend staff includes Cindy Ribet (beginning hammered dulcimer), Ken Kolodner (intermediate hammered dulcimer), Dan Landrum (advanced hammered dulcimer), Lisa Malyuk (building minor-key repertoire for mixed instruments), Heather Malyuk (fiddle basics: know your bow), Louise Arsenault (Acadian fiddle) and Helene Bergeron-Arsenault (Acadian sampler for all instruments). All classes are held in the relaxed retreat atmosphere of the Shepherd University campus center and surrounding historic buildings. Rental hammered dulcimers are available for new players.
