Heritage Craft Center April Classes
Intermediate Handspinning, Saturday, April 10, 10am – 5pm at Crim de la Crim, 137 N Queen St, Martinsburg. Tuition is $48 plus $20 materials fee. Improve your basic wheel or spindle skills by learning the spiral and Navaho plying technique, spinning through a diz, spinning from the fold, corespinning and working with unusual and difficult fibers. Participants may bring their own wheel or, if needed, request to borrow one when registering.
Quilting: Hand Applique, Saturday, April 17, 10am – 5pm at Crim de la Crim, 137 N Queen St, Martinsburg. Tuition is $48 plus $10 for kit and pattern. Spend a day learning how to prepare and perfectly execute inside, outside curves and points while constructing a lovely paper pieced block to start your journey to a Baltimore Album quilt.
Spinning Novelty and Art Yarns, Saturday, April 24, 10am – 5pm at Crim de la Crim, 137 N Queen St, Martinsburg. Tuition is $48 plus $25 materials fee. Take your spinning to the next level with corespinning locks, creating coils and supercoils, adding in embellishments and beads, spinning fabric strips, creating looped boucle, and using a drum carder to create chunky ‘art yarn’ batts. Participants should be proficient in basic spinning skills and bring their own spinning wheel and a bobbin of spun singles to the class.
Gourd Art – Gorgeous Gourds, Saturday, April 24, 9am – 3pm at the Triple Brick Museum, 313 E John St, Martinsburg. Tuition is $48 plus $15 materials fee. Turn a gourd into a beautiful keepsake box or bowl of your own design using various stains, dyes and embellishments.
