Already known regionally for its fashionable offerings of baby apparel, gifts, and nursery accessories, Shepherdstown’s Lullaby Lu now has furnishings, nursery décor, and bedding for the nursery and bedroom. The spacious three-room back expansion will be unveiled to the public at a June 2nd open house, 4 to 7 pm at the 126 W. German St. store. Lullaby Lu offers up well-known brands like Bratt Décor furniture and Serena and Lily and Petunia Pickle Bottom bedding. The emphasis is on the infant to 24-month range, but many of the furnishings are convertible for use by big kids —for example, a crib that converts into a toddler bed. For dads looking for a more manly-looking bag to lug around diapers, wipes, and other baby accoutrements, there is a wide assortment of Kalencom backpack diaper bags that could pass for your own stash.
Lullaby Lu will continue to offer apparel for the toddlers to size 7 in its Doodlebugs wing of the original store.
D’AccordD’Accord Boutique, the West German Street shop specializing in colorful home accessories and décor from France, from provencial to contemporary urban, will host an exhibit of original photography by local artist Robert Nalewaik, June 16. The exhibit will include works from many regions of Europe. Nalewaik has been shooting for more than 40 years, particularly scenes of medieval, mountain and out-of-the-way villages, ruins and castles. Some of his works are on permanent display at D’Accord, accenting the walls above the array of soaps, lotions, and chocolates (including locals ones crafted in the French tradition).
Nalewaik works from a gallery on Elk Ridge Mountain just north of Brunswick, Md., that is open for periodic showings. For information: kqnrpn@yahoo.com.
